What's New Community Membership Service Prayer

FOUNDATION

Brief History

The Benedictine Sisters Foundation was formed in 1996.  It's 15 member board consists of lay members and Sisters of Mother of God Monastery, with the prioress as the president of the Board.  Through the Foundation, the friends and families of the Sisters and the general public are given an opportunity to participate in the Benedictine Sisters' mission.

Mission

The Benedictine Sisters Foundation is a charitable corporation established for the sole purpose of supporting and enhancing the ministries of the Benedictine Sisters of Mother of God Monastery.  Through public relations and fund raising activities they hope to assure that the Sister's values are spread through the area in which they work.

The Sisters' values of hospitality, education, holistic caring and reverent stewardship of creation are reflected in their ministries of prayer, community living, administration, pastoral care, senior housing, parish ministry, retreat work, teaching, and health care.

How do I make a contribution?

The typical methods of contributing are by cash gifts or cash pledges.  Pledges can be filled over a two through five-year period.  You may contact the Benedictine Sisters Foundation for more information.  Appreciated stocks and bonds, real estate, life insurance policies, bequests and deferred gifts are acceptable and may have significant tax benefits for you.

Annuities and trusts are two examples of deferred gifts, also known as planned gifts. With these gifts you give assets of cash or property in return for which you receive an annual income for life and tax benefits. We recommend you consult your lawyer, accountant or other financial advisor on the benefits of a planned gift in your particular situation.

You may make a gift as a memorial or an honor gift.  You may select a memorial, in memory of a loved one, or an honoring gift for a member of your family, a business associate, a friend or perhaps a special Sister who has contributed much to your life.

The Benedictine Sisters Foundation of Watertown is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit corporation.  Your gift is deductible to the full extent provided by law.
