COMMUNITY SISTER CHARLES PALM
“As a little girl I always had the desire to be a sister. I had good role models in the sisters who taught at school. I wanted to be like them and especially admired my music teacher, Sister Dorothy. It was during the eighth grade that I really made up my mind that I was going to enter the convent after I was finished with high school. I entered Sacred Heart Convent in Yankton and taught in the classroom and music for eighteen years. I probably enjoyed my years teaching in high school the most. For the last thirty years I have been engaged in pastoral ministry mainly on the Sisseton and Crow Creek Reservations. My religious life has been enriched by working with the Native Americans and I am grateful to God for calling me to religious life." |
